Foreign Minister Paet to Visit the Netherlands

Tomorrow, 2 December, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will meet with his Dutch colleague Uri Rosenthal in Amsterdam.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet stated that there is room for development in Estonia-Netherlands relations. “We would like to advance political, defence, economic, and cultural relations with the Netherlands,” stated Foreign Minister Paet. The Netherlands is a member of the G20, a union of developed and developing nations.

During their meeting the two will also discuss European Union enlargement, Eastern Partnership, and matters related to the upcoming meeting of the European Council. Other topics to be addressed are European Union-Russia relations, the IT agency, energy security, and developments in Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet also has a meeting in the Netherlands with the Direct General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPWC) Ahmet Üzümcü.
