Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to Participate in Meeting of European Union and Gulf Co-operation Council Countries

For the next two days, 20-21 April, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will be in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates to participate in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the European Union and Gulf Co-operation Council. The members of the Gulf Co-operation Council are the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.

The ministers will discuss the situation in the shared neighbourhood of the European Union and the Persian Gulf countries, as well as the European Union’s co-operation opportunities with the nations of the Persian Gulf.

Within the framework of the conference, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will meet bilaterally with his colleagues from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar in order to discuss strengthening economic co-operation, opportunities to develop tourism, and co-operation in the search for the Estonian citizens abducted in Lebanon.
