Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg to Visit Estonia

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Jens Stoltenberg will be in Estonia for a working visit on 12 October.

He has meetings scheduled with President of the Republic Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Prime Minister Andrus Ansip.

Topics to be discussed during the visit are bilateral relations, economic issues, climate and renewable energy, and developments in the euro zone. Co-operation in NATO, cyber security, and other current foreign political topics will also be addressed.

During his visit, Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg will open a Norwegian-Estonian business seminar along with Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. The seminar will focus on the experiences of Norwegian companies working in Estonia in the areas of energy, the environment, the maritime sector, and corporate social responsibility. The Norwegian prime minister will also participate in the charity event “Aitan lapsi” taking place in Town Hall Square (for more information contact Paal Aschjem, Norwegian-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, tel. 5023200, paal@norest.ee).

Journalists, photographers and camera operators interested in covering the visit should be accredited no later than Monday, 10 October at 17.00. Please contact the Foreign Ministry public diplomacy department at centre@mfa.ee or by phone at +372 637 7630 with your first name and surname, publication/channel, ID card number, and identification number. Press cards will be available from the desk at the guest entrance of the Foreign Ministry located at Lauteri 2 on Tuesday, 11 October after 12.00.
