Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to Participate in European Union Eastern Partnership Meeting in Prague

Tomorrow Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will participate in a European Union Eastern Partnership meeting in Prague.

Foreign Minister Paet stated that Eastern Partnership requires our ongoing attention. “Estonia supports the Eastern Partners becoming as closely integrated and co-operating with the European Union as much as possible,” said Paet. The foreign minister added that it is also important that the entire European Union is involved in advancing Eastern Partnership.

The meeting in Prague will involve the foreign ministers of the European Union presidency country Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Eastern Partnership countries. High Representative of the European Union Catherine Ashton will also participate, as will Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle. Matters related to EU Eastern Partnership will be discussed at the meeting.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet has meetings scheduled with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian in Prague.

The Eastern Partnership countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus.
