Government Decided to Close Estonian Embassy in Bulgaria

The Government of Estonia has decided to restructure Estonia’s representation in Bulgaria and close its embassy there. A non-residing ambassador will be appointed to Bulgaria.

Estonia would like to continue developing the friendly bilateral relations it currently has with Bulgaria and intensifying reciprocal contacts. We will also continue engaging in active and multi-faceted co-operation within the framework of the European Union, NATO, and other international organisations.

The Foreign Ministry has thoroughly analysed Estonia’s current network of foreign representations and is making necessary changes to the network.
