Estonian Ambassador to Georgia Presents Credentials

On Monday, 10 September, Estonia’s new ambassador to Georgia Priit Turk presented his credentials to President Mikheil Saakashvili.

In their discussion following the presentation of credentials, President Mikheil Saakashvili and Ambassador Priit Turk talked about the good relations between their countries and discussed Georgia’s integration with the European Union and NATO. “We are prepared to continue sharing our experiences with integrating into European and transatlantic structures with Georgia,” Ambassador Turk confirmed.

President Saakashvili mentioned that Estonia sets an example for Georgia, stating that Georgia would like to move along the same path with its developments. Estonian Ambassador Turk confirmed Estonia’s plan to continue implementing development co-operation projects geared towards Georgia.

The ambassador and president also discussed recent developments in Georgia and matters related to the upcoming elections.

Ambassador Priit Turk was born on 27 May 1976 in Kuressaare and graduated from Tartu University with a degree in political science. Turk has also studied at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Priit Turk began working at the Foreign Ministry in 2003. He has worked in the division for development co-operation, the Estonian Representation to the UN in New York, and been the director of the divisions of development co-operation and humanitarian aid.

Ambassador Turk is married and has two sons.
