No 210-E

On Saturday, 22 June, Midsummer will be celebrated in the Parc du Chenil in the French town of Marly-le-Rois, located close to Versailles.

Marly-le-Roi has dedicated the year 2013 to introducing the Baltic states, and within the framework of the series of events a Midsummer evening will be held, during which
Midsummer traditions will be introduced, workshops will be conducted (creating flower wreaths; song and game workshops for kids and adults), traditional foods will be served, and a Midsummer bonfire will be built. The embassies will be on hand to share information and guests can participate in a drawing to win Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian prizes.

The group Ska Faktor will give a concert at the event. In addition to the Midsummer event, Ska Faktor will also perform at the biggest open-air event in France – the Fete de la Musique taking place in Paris on 21 June.
The Baltic Year in Marly-le-Rois is being organised by the city government in co-operation with the embassies of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The event is being supported by the Estonian Foreign Ministry, the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the France-Estonie Association, Nordic Hotel Forum, and Meriton Hotels.
