Estonia Opened Eighth Honorary Consulate in Sweden

Yesterday, 23 October, Ambassador of Estonia to Sweden Jaak Jõerüüt opened Estonia’s eighth honorary consulate in Norrköping. The local honorary consul will be Michael Pääbo.

Michael Pääbo was born in Norrköping in 1950. His parents fled to Sweden from Estonia during World War II. He has graduated from Linköping Technical University with a specialization in applied physics and electronics and has been working at the Linköping University since 2006. He is also active in business. Pääbo speaks Swedish, Estonian, English, German, and Spanish.

Estonia’s honorary consul in Ekilstuna, Harriet Lagebo, and Estonia’s honorary consul in Gothenburg, Lars Boreström, also took part in the opening ceremony. The head of the province of Östergötland, Elisabeth Nilsson, also participated in the opening.

The new honorary consulate’s administrative area is the province of Östergötland. The honorary consulate is located at Lindöhällsvägen 47, 60365 Norrköping, Sweden.
