Foreign Minister Urmas Paet Expressed Condolences to the Foreign Minister of the Philippines

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet expressed his condolences to the Foreign Minister of the Philippines Albert del Rosario about the casualties and those suffering from Haiyan, one of the largest typhoons ever recorded.

“I express my condolences to the family and close ones of those who have died or suffered as well as to the entire Filipino nation,” said Foreign Minister Paet in his letter of condolence.

Today, Estonia is sending two rescue team experts, as well as equipment and technology for the creation of a base-camp for humanitarian workers, to the typhoon-ravaged Philippines. Additionally, Estonia is allocating 150,000 Euros for humanitarian aid for the Philippines through UNICEF and the Red Cross. Foreign Minister Paet confirmed that Estonia is ready to continue providing additional assistance to the Philippines in order to alleviate the effects of the catastrophe.
