Estonia Considers Prompt Signing of EU Association Agreements with Moldova and Georgia To Be Essential

18.12.2013

In today’s meeting of European Union foreign minister in Brussels, where the question of how to move forward with the European Union’s Eastern Partnership policy was discussed, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said that EU association and free trade agreements with Georgia and Moldova should be signed as soon as possible. Whether to grant visa freedom to Moldova should also be decided.

The prospect of signing an association and free trade agreement should continue to be held open for Ukraine. “Every country must have the opportunity to decide its future without external pressure,” added Paet.
