Estonian and Latvian foreign ministers concluded an agreement for Latvian diplomats to work in the Estonian embassy in New Delhi

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs signed an agreement yesterday in Brussels according to which two Latvian diplomats have been given the opportunity to work on the premises of the Estonian embassy in New Delhi.

According to foreign minister Paet, the agreement that was concluded is a good example of the practical cooperation between Estonian and Latvian foreign ministries. “The good and strong relations between Estonia and Latvia also carry over to the development of a flexible and effective foreign service. We currently share the good experience of using common rooms in Cairo,” Paet noted.

According to the agreement, two Latvian diplomats will be able to work in the Estonian embassy’s rooms in New Delhi from February of this year until February 2015.
Estonian diplomats have worked in the offices of the Nordic countries and Estonia has for instance welcomed a Portuguese diplomat in Vilnius and a Finnish diplomat in Tbilisi.
