Estonia hopes Mongolia's chairmanship of the Freedom Online Coalition will bring greater involvement of Asian countries

30.04.2014

At their meeting in Tallinn, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet told the Foreign Minister of Mongolia Luvsanvandan Bold that Estonia is prepared to support Mongolia as the next chairman of the Freedom Online Coalition and is willing to share its experiences in the field of e-governance.

Paet emphasised the cooperative work between Estonia and Mongolia in the Freedom Online Coalition. "Mongolia is a founding member of the Freedom Online Coalition and as of this summer, will take over the role of chairman of the coalition from Estonia," Paet said. "We promise to be of assistance based on our own experience. We also hope that Mongolia's chairmanship will bring more members from Asia to the coalition, since currently Asian representation is not very strong," he added.

The Mongolian Foreign Minister said that they are also interested in developing economic relations with Estonia.

The ministers also discussed events in Ukraine and North Korea.
