Estonia opened a new honorary consulate in Edmonton, Canada

On Sunday May 25, Estonian Ambassador to Canada Gita Kalmet opened the Estonian Honorary Consulate in Edmonton, Canada. Christine Lepik Robertson is the seventh Estonian honorary consul in Canada, and her consular district is the province of Alberta.

According to Estonian Ambassador Gita Kalmet, Alberta is Canada's province with the fastest growing economy and Estonians are interested in cooperation opportunities in various fields there. "For example, Alberta has an important role to play in the energy industry," Ambassador Kalmet said. She added that Alberta's universities and research centres offer good opportunities for cooperation in the areas of education and science.

Estonian Honorary Consul Christine Lepik Robertson said she would like to help in developing economic ties, as well as cultural and educational relations between Estonia and Canada and also to provide support to Estonians who come to the honorary consulate seeking assistance.

The honorary consulate is located at the Edmonton Shell Aerocentre, 3795 - 56 Avenue East, Edmonton International Airport, Alberta, T9E 0V4. The Honorary Consul can be contacted by phone at +1 (780) 890-1304 or e-mail: crobertson@shellaero.com.

Christine Lepik Robertson was born in British Columbia. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1982 with a degree in economics. Lepik Robertson has worked in the field of aviation for most of her career. Today, she is the vice-president and co-owner of YEG Aerocentre Inc.
