Foreign Minister Paet Met with Foreign Ministers of Mexico and Kuwait

At his meeting in Rome with Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet confirmed that Estonia is interested in concluding agreements for the protection of investments and for the avoidance of double taxation with Mexico in order to strengthen economic relations.
The Estonian and Mexican foreign ministers discussed the UN climate talks that took place in Cancun at the end of last year as well as UN Security Council reform. The Mexican foreign minister emphasised that serious attention must be given to climate matters.
Paet invited his Mexican colleague to visit Estonia.
At his meeting with Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Mohammad Al Salem Al Sabah, Foreign Minister Paet spoke about strengthening both economic and political ties. Estonia has appointed a non-residing ambassador to Kuwait. The Estonian and Kuwaiti foreign ministers also talked about matters related to the seven Estonian citizens who were abducted in Lebanon.
