The New President of Finland Sauli Niinistö on a Visit to Estonia

On Wednesday 25 April, the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, and his wife will arrive in Estonia for an official visit.

The Finnish head of state will meet with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves. Mr Niinistö will also meet with the President of the Riigikogu (Parliament), Ene Ergma, and Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. The talks will focus on the bilateral ties between Estonia and Finland, the economic issues related to the European Union, regional co-operation and NATO-related issues.

President Niinistö will officially open the Lappset playground equipment factory.

The wife of the President of Finland, Jenni Haukio, and the wife of the the President of Estonia, Evelin Ilves, will visit KUMU Art Museum, Tallinn TV Tower and the Finnish School in Tallinn. The playground of the Finnish School will be officially opened by Jenni Haukio and Evelin Ilves.

All journalists, photographers and television cameramen interested in covering the visit should be accredited no later than Tuesday, 24 April at 12:00 pm. Accreditation can be obtained electronically at http://ankeet.vm.ee/est/soome_presidendi_visiit.

The press badges can be collected on 24 April from 4:00 pm from the front desk of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lauteri 2.
