Estonia Opens Fourth Honorary Consulate in Greece

On Friday, 8 June, Ambassador of Estonia to Greece Andres Talvik opened the Estonian Honorary Consulate on the island of Kos. Estonia’s new honorary consul in Kos is Nikolaus Kantarzis.

Ambassador Andres Talvik stated that Kos is a “jewel of the Aegean” – along with Rhodes and the rest of the Dodecanese Archipelago – and a popular tourism destination for Estonians, who will feel much more secure knowing that there is a consul on the island who can help them if necessary.

The consular area of Estonia’s new honorary consul is all twelve islands of the Dodecanese Archipelago.

The honorary consulate is located at 22 Georgiou Averof st, 85300 Kos. The honorary consul can be reached by phone at (30) 22420 22343, by fax at (30) 2242027149 and by email at .

Nikolaus Kantarzis was born on 28 April 1955. He graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in architecture in 1979. Nikolaus Kantarzis owns a design and construction company, and in addition to his everyday work he has also been the executive director of the Kos yacht harbour and worked in various positions in the Kos City Government, including assistant mayor. The honorary consul speaks Greek, English and Italian.

In addition to Kos, there are also Estonian honorary consuls in Piraeus, Thessaloniki, and Patras.
