Estonia Strongly Condemns Syria For Bombing Turkey

04.10.2012

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet emphasised that Estonia together with its partners in NATO strongly condemns the attack the Syrian regime carried out yesterday against the border town Akcakala in Turkey, a NATO member state. “Together with its NATO allies Estonia will continue to closely monitor this tense situation, and will stand beside Turkey along with the rest of NATO’s partners,” emphasised Foreign Minister Paet. “The international community must put a lot of pressure on the Syrian regime to consent to a cease-fire and begin a political transition,” he added.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet expressed condolences to his Turkish colleague over the deaths of Turkish citizens in the Syrian attack yesterday.
