Foreign Minister Urmas Paet Confirmed to New Georgian Foreign Minister That Estonia Supports Georgia’s Path Towards European Union and NATO

Today Foreign Minister Urmas Paet had a phone conversation with Georgia’s new foreign minister Maia Panjikidze about the further development of bilateral relations and Georgia’s development in the direction of the European Union and NATO. “We support Georgia’s efforts to accede to NATO and strengthen ties with the European Union,” said Paet.
Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze confirmed that Estonia is an important partner with whom Georgia would like to continue working together.
Paet invited Panjikidze to come visit Estonia. The Georgian foreign minister promised to schedule a visit to the country in the near future.
