Estonia supports providing medical aid for Ukrainians hurt in street clashes

Estonia is supporting providing medical care for Ukrainians hurt in street clashes with 50 000 Euros. The contribution is going to the not-for-profit non-governmental International Renaissance Foundation.

“We wish to help those injured in the Ukrainian street clashes. By supporting the people providing aid on the spot, we can be sure that our support will reach a maximum number of people needing medical assistance,” Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said.

Paet added, that it is essential to sit down for political talks in Ukraine and refrain from further violence.

The allocation will be made from funds intended for development and humanitarian aid within the 2014 Foreign Ministry budget.

According to various sources, up to ten people have died in the protests in Ukraine.
