Ambassador Priit Pallum passed along greetings and holiday wishes from Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves to the Croatian president. In the discussion that followed the presenting of credentials, Ambassador Pallum and President Josipović talked about Estonia-Croatia bilateral relations. They also focused on Croatia’s European Union integration and Estonia and Croatia’s allied relations in NATO. Ambassador Pallum stated that Estonia strongly supports Croatia’s endeavours to integrate with the European Union. “We are prepared to continue sharing our reform experiences with Croatia,” said Pallum.

At the meeting, Ambassador Pallum spoke about Estonia’s economic situation and its upcoming accession to the euro zone. Another topic was the development of Estonia-Croatia economic relations. “In economic relations between the nations, the greatest development potential is in the tourism sector. Croatia has become an increasingly popular tourism destination for Estonians,” said Pallum.

Starting in 2000 Pallum worked as the undersecretary for external economic policy and consular affairs, after which he became the ambassador to the Netherlands from 2002-2006.
