Foreign Minister Paet to Visit Great Britain

Tomorrow, 20 December, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will meet in London with Foreign Minister of Great Britain William Hague.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet stated that Estonia and Great Britain are united by a strong partnership in various areas. “We are partners in Afghanistan, we co-operate in the development co-operation sector, and we have similar views and positions in the European Union and NATO,” said Paet.

At his meeting with the British foreign minister, they will discuss Estonia-Great Britain bilateral relations. Developments in Afghanistan and Pakistan will also be discussed, as will NATO topics, including the conclusions of the Lisbon summit, air security, and the NATO Cyber Defence Centre. The foreign ministers will also touch on European Union topics, including European Neighbourhood Policy and Eastern Partnership.

On 21 December, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will sign agreements for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion between Estonia and Jersey.
