President of Slovenia Danilo Türk to Visit Estonia

President of Slovenia Danilo Türk along with his spouse will be in Estonia for an official visit from 5-6 May.

He has meetings scheduled with President of the Republic Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, and Speaker of the Riigikogu Ene Ergma. President Danilo Türk will also participate in a Slovenia-Estonia business seminar.

Bilateral relations will be discussed during his visit. The economic management of the European Union, Neighbourhood Policy, and enlargement will also be addressed. Other topics will include UN Security Council reform, developments in the Western Balkans, and other current foreign policy topics.

President Danilo Türk will be accompanied by Minister of the Economy Darja Radić, Minister of Public Administration Irma Pavlinič Krebs, and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Roko Žarnić.

The president’s wife Barbara Miklič Türk will visit the Tallinn Children’s Hospital and KUMU Art Museum. The presidential couple will also take a tour of Tallinn’s Old Town led by Jüri Kuuskemaa. Within the framework of the visit, the exhibit “Slovenia’s Visual Identity” will be opened in the National Library. The exhibit displays various design solutions and symbols of visual culture created for Slovenia, such as currency notes, euro coins, passports, and postage stamps. The exhibit will be on display until 26 May.

Press cards will be available as of 16.00 on 4 May from the desk at the guest entrance of the Foreign Ministry at Lauteri 2.
