Estonia Condemns Terror Attack on Turkey

20.10.2011

No. 337-E

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet condemned the terrorist attack in south-east Turkey organised by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), as a result of which 26 Turkish soldiers were killed and many more were injured. “We offer our profound sympathy to the families of those killed and to all the other victims,” he stated.

Foreign Minister Paet stated that Estonia condemns terrorism in all its forms and expressions as a constant and serious threat to peace and security in the world. “International co-operation must be made more effective in order to prevent future acts of terrorism. This includes intensifying the European Union’s relations with Turkey,” said Paet.
