Foreign Minister Urmas Paet Expressed Condolences to Turkish Foreign Minister

13.05.2013

No 158-E

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet expressed his condolences to Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu over the terror attack in the Turkish border town of Reyhanli that claimed the lives of 46 people and left more than 100 injured.

“I express profound condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured in the car bombings in Reyhanli,” Paet said. The foreign minister added that Estonia condemns all forms of terrorism. “The organisation of these explosions and the killing and injuring of those people is completely unacceptable.  These kinds of acts of violence show a lack of respect for human life and the suffering of civilians,” Paet noted.

There were 46 people killed and over 100 injured in the bomb blast that took place on Saturday, 11 May in the centre of the 60 000-resident town of Reyhanli a few kilometres from the Syria-Turkey border point.
