Estonia opened its first Honorary Consulate in Vietnam


On Saturday, April 11, the Estonian Ambassador to Vietnam, Toomas Lukk, opened the first Estonian   Honorary Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City. The Estonian Honorary Consul of Do Van Muoi , whose consular region is Ho Chi Minh City.

At the opening of the Honorary Consulate, Ambassador Toomas Lukk said that Estonia wishes to develop its relations with Vietnam. “Opening the Honorary Consulate was a very important step on the road to developing closer cooperative ties,” the Ambassador said. “At the moment, Estonia and Vietnam mainly cooperate in the areas of higher education and medicine, but in the future, this could be extended to the agricultural sector,” he added.

Estonian Honorary Consul Do Van Muoi was born in 1972 in Duong Minch Chau, Vietnam. He has a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting (Economic University of Ho Chi Minh City) and a master's degree in business administration from Brussels (United Business Institutes). Since 2006, he has been the chief financial officer, board member and partner of the export / import and logistics company TRA-SAS. Previously, he worked as an accountant and financial advisor at various logistics companies. The honorary consul speaks Vietnamese and English.
